Moving metrics online: challenges, solutions, and practical advice
Alice Louise Kassens
Chapter 6 in Teaching Economics Online, 2024, pp 79-86 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter describes a traditionally in-person, one-semester undergraduate econometrics course and covers the modifications made to move the course online for one semester during the COVID-19 pandemic. I detail the pedagogical reasoning for the changes and provide an anecdotal comparison of student learning and success across the two mediums. The appendix includes the syllabi for the in-person and online versions of the course and specific details of teaching the course online.
