Chapter 14 in Research Handbook on Health Education, Health Promotion and Diversity, 2025, pp 193-208 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter is divided into three main sections: first, an introduction of general ethics that should be considered when designing an investigation protocol following diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); second, we explain quantitative methodologies and provide examples of health-related research including DEI; and third, qualitative methods are described. The authors explain ethnography, grounded theory, and phenomenology as pathways to conducting qualitative DEI research.
