Abstract:
The Entrepreneurial LeadHERship course equips undergraduate students with leadership skills through a gender-informed lens. The course emphasizes developing an entrepreneurial mindset, enhancing self-awareness, and fostering inclusivity. By focusing on the personal growth of the founder, rather than solely on business venture success, the course has significantly impacted its participants, evidenced by its popularity and transformative outcomes. The course framework focuses on traits like risk-taking, proactivity, and creativity. Through experiential learning, students engage in collaborative exercises, self-reflection, and real-world applications to navigate leadership challenges, especially when starting a business. The course’s success is measured by significant improvements in leadership competencies, challenging traditional gender roles, and advancing gender equity in entrepreneurship education. Through continuous iteration and improvement to ensure its relevance and effectiveness in empowering the next generation of women leaders, the course is a best-practice example of gender-smart entrepreneurial leadership education.
