Chapter 12 in Handbook on Leadership Education and Impact, 2025, pp 155-170 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The undeniable complexity of our world, coupled with the rise of nationalism, individualism, and the pervasive reduction of empathy due to ethical fading, has culminated in a perfect storm of complex problems for our communities, organizations, and industries. The issues plaguing modern businesses are compounded by several factors that perpetuate a cycle of unsustainable practices and unethical behavior. However, our ability to proactively identify and address these challenges will ultimately define the longevity of our organizations and the implications they will have on our communities and collective society.
