Spanning disciplinary, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary approaches to leadership education: a call to action

Aimée Eubanks Davis

Chapter 24 in Handbook on Leadership Education and Impact, 2025, pp 317-322 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This call-to-action chapter offers an applied synthesis of what it means to engage in leadership education for impact across multiple disciplines through the lens of Braven, a national nonprofit that collaborates with institutions of higher education and employers to empower untapped, talented students as they transition from college to career. This chapter invites readers to consider multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches to leadership grounded in human capital development. Drawing on the Braven model and strategy, the chapter offers examples and rationale for positioning leadership education as a powerful vehicle for talent development, equity, and social impact.
