Chapter 8 in Handbook on Leadership Education and Impact, 2025, pp 104-116 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
With growing attention to the need for large-scale systems change worldwide, leadership educators, scholars, and practitioners continue to shift from individualistic notions of leadership toward a more collective, relational, and complex understanding. The promise of collective leadership education stems from the opportunity to enable leadership capacity throughout systems and mobilize collective action to address the most pressing challenges facing organizations, communities, and societies. Embracing collective impact offers a complementary set of practices for educators, researchers, and professionals interested in collective approaches to leadership education.
