Abstract:
The Rialto Center for the Arts is a self-contained performing arts center within the organizational context of Georgia State University, a major public university located in Atlanta, Georgia. In the 2020-21 COVID-19 pandemic, it was forced to close its doors, resulting in major loss of earned (box office and rental) revenues and severe reductions in staffing. It survived the pandemic with the help of underlying university support of its facilities and core staff, and diversifying its funding and programming including new on-line offerings.
