Brain lateralization and decision making

Abstract: Brain lateralization refers to the specialization of cognitive and emotional functions between the brain's hemispheres, with the left hemisphere typically linked to logic and language, and the right to creativity and emotion. While these distinctions offer insight into neural organization, effective cognition relies on hemispheric cooperation. Research on approach–avoidance behavior and Davidson's emotion lateralization theory highlights how brain lateralization influences decision-making, emotional valence, and leadership styles. In corporate management, understanding these neural dynamics can enhance emotional regulation, risk assessment, and decision-making. Integrating neuroscience into leadership training promotes balanced, emotionally intelligent, and adaptive organizational leaders.
