Abstract: When understanding decision-making, the impact of others is an important and significant variable. This can be in non-cooperative scenarios such as the prisoner's dilemma or more collaborative scenarios such as those considered in this contribution. The focus here is on groups agreeing on a single shared outcome. This is most often understood in the context of elections but can be applied more widely to other groups. This starts with early work in the median voter theory and May's Theorem. It then moves into a wider discussion of the impact of voting rules, voter types, and candidate policies.
