Abstract:
The meaning of “society,” getting into society, the society page in the Sunday paper, pink teas, dog shows, etc. The notion of manners, etiquette, good form, what is done and what is not done a fundamental aspect of society. A few quirks from D.O. Stewart'sPerfect Behavior. Proper behavior for a young man run over by an automobile driven by a strange young lady, etc. The notion of etiquette a serious matter and of far wider import than is generally realized. Fundamental to the notion of society and its scientific study.
