Narcissism at Work: The Narcissistic Personality and Organizational Relationships

Abstract: Abstract This chapter is predicated on four fundamental axioms. The first is that self-esteem at both the global (facet) and specific (domain) level is normally distributed in the population. Like nearly all human characteristics and traits, from creativity to conscientiousness, and integrity to intelligence, there is, in the general population, a bell curve (normal) distribution with a few people with very high self-esteem and a few with very low self-esteem. Further it has trait-like qualities being stable over time and relatively consistent across social situations.
