Abstract:
Abstract The conceptual base for health psychologists in their roles as researchers, practitioners, and policymakers is the biopsychosocial model (Anderson, 1998; Engel, 1977; Kaplan, 1990; Matarazzo, 1980; Schwartz, 1982; Schwartz & Weiss, 1978). In this perspective, it is maintained that biological, psychological, and social processes are integrally and interactively involved in physical health and illness.
