Abstract:
Abstract Let us presume that an individual wishes to set up their own business. How could they be helped? One suggestion is that he or she should undergo a battery of psychological tests to see if they were suited for this form of work. For example, an investigation could be undertaken of their risk propensities, tolerance of ambiguity and their need to succeed. Having established if they are enough of a maverick, the temptation might be to counsel them to go ahead.
