Abstract: Abstract The discussion in the previous chapter led to the conclusion that the welfare of the average consumer in Bangladesh has not increased since the Green Revolution and indeed in all probability has declined somewhat. Nevertheless, the Green Revolution has enabled more individuals to survive in Bangladesh, and if one places a positive value on the survival of a greater number of individuals then welfare has increased overall.
