Chapter 6 in Employee Relations in Foreign-Owned Subsidiaries, 2007, pp 84-103 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The study is based on a postal survey of managing directors of German-owned subsidiaries in the United Kingdom. The survey was conducted in 2004, and the unit of analysis is the establishment. The study design ensured that many of the limitations and shortcomings in the existing stock of empirical work, as identified in the literature review (see Chapters 3 and 4), were redressed. Additionally, a survey of a sample of US subsidiaries was conducted to allow for a comparative analysis of ER systems. The particularities of this background study are discussed in the final section of this chapter.
