Abstract:
Abstract In 2007, in conjunction with PR Week, the authors organized a debate at the University of Westminster on the motion “PR has a duty to tell the truth.” Over three hundred people — PR students from all over the world and UK-based PR practitioners — attended the event in central London. After an hour and a half of lively discussion, with plenty of interventions from the floor, the motion was voted down by a narrow margin: the audience concluded that PR people did not have a duty to tell the truth.
