How Do I Get Reliable Market Information?

Abstract:
Abstract Almost all statistical data that are published by official Chinese sources, such as by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), are aggregated macro-economic data, limited to a few key figures. If you can find data about specific branches of industry, these are mostly very general data that just give you a very rough idea of the situation. Furthermore official statistics offer almost no consumer data that refer to psycho-graphic, emotional or lifestyle aspects. As large parts of China are still underdeveloped in terms of market research, there is a lack of the necessary precision and completeness of the data recording and of the registration system. The problems concern the bookkeeping of single (state-owned) companies as well as the statistics of the provinces. However, China’s central government is fighting against these problems in order to get the relevant data from the provinces in correct, up-to-date and complete form.
