What are the Most Relevant Production-related Issues?

Engelbert Boos

Chapter 8 in The China Management Handbook, 2003, pp 301-326 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In China, customers often find poor-quality products. This is not only the case with many local products, but also for imported ones, especially if these come from other Asian countries. Only a few companies have enough experience to judge quality questions and to realise an effective total quality management (TQM). In order to support the manufacturers as well as their customers, special, full or partly state owned organisations have been established to set China-specific product standards.
