Coaching New Teams
Patricia A. Mathews
Chapter Chapter 23 in On Becoming a Leadership Coach, 2008, pp 209-216 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Successful teams, whether new or existing, need continuing support from the leader and the organization. A team coach can intensify this support by observing the team’s current functioning, assessing the team’s strengths and weaknesses, and, in collaboration with the leader, developing a plan for addressing any needed changes. Brand new teams in new situations require extra care and feeding.
