Abstract:
Abstract Indeed, the experiences of Nestlé with Totole, Coca-Cola with COFCO and SABMiller with CRE provide a compelling case for finding and managing the right Chinese partner for sustainable success in China. Yes, the case is compelling, at least insofar as the fortunes of Nestlé, Coca-Cola and SABMiller in this book are concerned. However, it is also important to acknowledge that working with and managing a Chinese partner is not the “be all and end all” solution. Indeed, Nestlé’s pursuits in the ice cream sector offer useful insights on its lonely journey as an ice cream peddler in China, that is without a Chinese partner.
