Chapter 6 in The High Engagement Work Culture, 2012, pp 147-160 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Something very, very big is happening as we write this book: a political movement is stirring, starting on Wall Street but probably inspired by the sheer power and courage of the Arab Spring.1 It is moving not just around the United States (in 200+ locations), but overseas: London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Frankfurt—all have been inspired to stand up and make a statement. Is this the beginning of a worldwide evolution — or revolution? It is far too early to tell. What does it have to do with what we are talking about in this book? As we will see, some of it has quite a lot in common. Other parts of the protests come with messages with which we would strongly disagree.
