Chapter 12 in Beyond the Business Plan, 2013, pp 109-118 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Will your enterprise (idea) work and what is the easiest way to find out reliably? In theory there are two options: either doing it for real or conducting prior market research to try to assess likely reactions and thus reduce the risk that an offering will not work. Market research should thus be the sensible option, but the problem is that often it doesn’t work. The only way you will really know if something new works is to try it.
