Types and Quality of Data

Richard Boire

Chapter Chapter 10 in Data Mining for Managers, 2014, pp 75-82 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract If there is one opinion of data mining that experts almost universally agree with, it is that the data components and content are the core of data mining success. Despite the latest advancements in technology and software, which all purport to significantly improve data mining results, data is clearly the driver behind any successful data mining project. Having said that, it is important to understand that there are different types and levels of data. Knowledge of these types and levels of data can provide insight into how performance will be impacted.
