Chapter 3 in Dialogue in Organizations, 2015, pp 80-108 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Tony: I think when I’ve tried to initiate dialogue … I get a sense, certainly from my management team, of impatience, they want to be out there fixing rather than sitting, and I’m trying to get people to understand the value [of dialogue]. (Meeting 3) Tony’s reflection aptly mirrors my sense, at times, of inviting the CI group members into dialogue; the sense of time pressure; the sense I had that they felt they needed to be doing something ‘useful’ and the desire to somehow ‘make’ the time worthwhile for them.
