Chapter 11 in Fairness in the Workplace, 2015, pp 219-226 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In view of the changes in the nature of the workforce, organizational fairness has become one of the most important concepts in today’s world. When the stability of the workforce is questionable and both sides, employers and employees, seem not to be very interested in long-term employment and a stable work relationship, the perception of fairness becomes increasingly important. One way to view the approach advanced here is as a further expansion of the equity theory of motivation. The first step in that expansion was to add the component of procedural justice to distributive justice. Later, organizational justice was equated with organizational fairness, and the majority of research used the scales of organizational justice to assess fairness.
