Introduction: The Basics of Modern Money Theory

L. Randall Wray

A chapter in Modern Money Theory, 2015, pp 1-8 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In this introduction we provide a short summary of the basics of Modern Monetary Theory. We will not go deeply into any of the theory or policy, but instead provide an overview of the conclusions. The purpose is to explain why it is important to understand the MMT approach. Many readers have told me that building an understanding of MMT has completely changed the way they look at our economy.
