Conclusions for Theory
Erik Arnold ()
Chapter 13 in Competition and Technological Change in the Television Industry, 1985, pp 173-203 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, conclusions are drawn about the relative usefulness of the paradigms discussed in the first three chapters by systematically relating evidence about the UK television industry presented in chapters 7 to 12 to the issues raised by economic theory. The ‘Schumpeterian’ paradigm is found to be the most fruitful of the three, and in chapter 14 an attempt is made to specify ways in which it could be further refined in the light of the evidence from the television industry.
