Bottom-up Performance Improvement

Magne Y. Orgland

Chapter 9 in Initiating, Managing and Sustaining Strategic Change, 1997, pp 197-219 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The previous two chapters focused on horizontal process redesign. They discussed the importance of viewing the organization as a set of core processes that link suppliers to customers, and how to identify, understand and redesign those processes to improve speed and quality. This chapter and the next consider another powerful force for change: bottom-up performance improvement.
