Managing Issues
Michael Bland
Chapter 16 in Communicating Out of a Crisis, 1998, pp 171-177 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In Molière’s Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, the nouveau-riche Monsieur Jourdain hires a professor of language to teach him to speak like an aristocrat. The first lesson is ‘Prose’ at the end of which the delighted Jourdain proudly tells his family that, thanks to his professor, he can now speak prose. Similarly, issues management is something that many companies and organisations have been doing all their lives but no-one had defined it.
