The Strategy of the Lateral Project

Chapter 7 in Managing Sensitive Projects, 1998, pp 71-81 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The last chapter stated that a good strategy must take into account the necessity to make players act in a dynamic way. But what is a player’s dynamic? Almost every managing director has said: ‘Today, I will do nothing and let’s see if the place continues to run smoothly’. As a matter of fact, life continues as normal. It is as if a collective energy allowed events to happen without the need to ask for them to happen or without the need for anyone to instigate them.
