Globalization: One Size Does Not Fit All
Joseph A. DiVanna
Chapter Chapter 19 in Redefining Financial Services, 2002, pp 151-155 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract As seen in Chapters 10–18, one aspect of globalization is the technology applied by financial services and its relationship to capabilities within global markets, and its adaptability to local market conditions and local cultures. A traveller to any airport can easily view the impact of globalization, with the endless parade of fast-food and merchandise outlets of multinational corporations eager to turn the travel experience into a continuous buying experience. The elements of globalization can be explored by examining the spectrum of available financial services technologies, that is, how micropayments will be transacted.
