Chapter 10 in Economic Growth and Structural Features of Transition, 2010, pp 206-235 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In the past decades the intensification of competitiveness due to market globalization and the growing role of Asian economies such as China and India, together with the spread of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), have generated new challenges in many developed countries. Adaptability and the capacity to respond rapidly to changes in demand and markets have become crucial for firms’ survival, which have also made major changes to their organization, management style and work practices.
