Strategic Alliances Between Independent Film Distributors

Abstract: The monograph analyses the association between the strategic alliance of independent film distributors in Central and Eastern Europe and economic successfulness of their marketing activities. Strategic partnerships, marketing strategies and film industry are explained. The characteristics of the strategic alliances are analysed and the hypotheses are tested using the primary survey data. The empirical results have confirmed positive association of the economic successfulness and the quantity of the marketing activities of the independent film distributors with the forming of the strategic alliance. The strategic partners with the entry in the strategic alliance in the Central and Eastern Europe have obtained a better, diverse and cheaper film program. On the domestic markets they have strengthened competitiveness and remained independent.
