Abstract: Biotechnology and the apppication of genetic engineering to agriculture hold vast potential in boosting agricultural productivity in growth. Knowledge generation and technological innovations and creations in this field could undoubtedly give rise to increases and improvement in agricultural production. However, advances in this field with them complex mechanisms, structures, and policy framework, as there exist no clear-cut measures in their gereation , use, and management. This book discusses succint but highly substantive assembly of thematic issues on biotechnology, biodiversity, and farmers’ rights. Also, this book underscores the impact of IPR on rural poverty alleviation and equity.
