Abstract:
Abstract The Internet is a key technology for the information age. It has evolved as a fundamental communication mechanism across a wide range of sectors (academic, personal, business, government, etc.) and spans the globe. This worldwide communication system is operated by multiple network providers. Internet Backbone Providers (IBPs) manage their own long-haul transmission networks with high bandwidths to transit Internet traffic and a number of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) mainly provide customers with access by connecting them to IBPs (Malecki 2002; Dodd 2002).
