Chapter Chapter 4 in Cost-Minimizing Choice Behavior in Transportation Planning, 2010, pp 33-61 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The ideas introduced in Chap. 3 are made more precise. The form of the choice probability function is derived from basic assumptions about costminimizing behavior. The simple (multinomial) logit model as well as discrete choice logit models in general are treated. Axiomatic derivations are used to discuss and compare our approach and the standard ARUM formulation.
