Chapter Chapter 11 in Regional Problems and Policies in Latin America, 2013, pp 243-278 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The aim of this chapter is to characterize and explain the evolution of provincial and regional GDP per capita in Argentina in the period 1970–2010 and the difference on its levels across provinces and regions. We draw on several factors related to economic development, on the basis of its initial and current value, including: education, financial sector development, urbanization, exports, inputs, productivity, tax burden, size of firms, among others. We also analyze the role of public policy on regional development.
