Abstract From June 14 to 16, 1998, an international workshop on “Theories of regional development - lessons for regional economic renewal and growth” was convened in Uddevalla, Sweden. During the workshop, presentations and discussions focused on a wide range of theories and models that help explain patterns of regional development and market structure.
