An Interpretative Survey of Innovative Behaviour and Diffusion

Cristoforo S. Bertuglia, Silvana Lombardo and Peter Nijkamp

Chapter 1 in Innovative Behaviour in Space and Time, 1997, pp 3-16 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract “Made in Taiwan”. The Western world has witnessed an avalanche of consumer goods produced in the Asian Pacific Rim which have flooded the markets in countries which used to have a strong industrial base. A world wide process of industrial restructuring has taken place, leading to a shift of the industrial heartland to traditionally remote areas. At the same time, the pattern of international trade and the geographical distribution of goods and information has gone through a drastic change.
