Abstract:
Abstract In the previous chapter an adoption choice model for energy suppliers has been presented under the assumption of a national monopolistic energy production market. However, as witnessed by the analysis carried out in Section 3.4, the recent institutional changes governing the energy market drive the energy industry towards a more open market structure. These changes are important for our theoretical model, since the institutional rules governing the market influence the trends of adoption costs and revenues, their values over time, and thus the optimal time of adoption.
