Abstract:
Abstract This year marks the 80th anniversary of the death of Wilhelm Launhardt (18321918). Launhardt was a man of many parts: civil engineer, commissioner of roads in the state of Hanover, consultant to the Venlo-Hamburg Railroad Company, rector of the newly founded Hanover Institute of Technology, founder of transportation science, author of the first German text in mathematical economics, monetary economist, and above all location theorist.
