Chapter Chapter 8 in Sampling Spatial Units for Agricultural Surveys, 2015, pp 197-217 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Most survey statisticians recognize that determining an appropriate sample size is a crucial part of the design of a sampling strategy. In fact, it has a large impact on the overall cost and efficiency when producing reliable statistics on a phenomenon. In this chapter, we describe the main tools for answering the key question “how many sampling units should be selected?”.
