Abstract: 6. Conclusion Current United States policy towards North Korea has so far not been successful in eliminating the nuclear threat. To resolve the problem, the United States may need to take a more active role in dealing with North Korea. When weighting all of the factors, it appears that the best option for dealing with North Korea is to negotiate using both the threat of sanctions and the offering of incentives.
