Chapter Chapter 3 in Managing Supply Chain Risk, 2012, pp 33-49 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter discusses different ways to assess the risks in the different categories identified in the previous chapter. Risk assessment is a critical step because the results of the risk assessment can influence the decisions (prioritization, resource allocation) to be made by the organization and the commitment from its top management. In this chapter, we present a real risk assessment exercise to illustrate an approach for assessing supply chain risks. While this approach is not the only way to access supply chain risks, it does highlight the challenges and opportunities of risk assessment within the organization and its supply chain.
