Abstract: Abstract The piracy paradox means that, although there has been attention paid to fighting counterfeit goods by journalists, scholars, governments, and associations, sales of pirated product continue to grow rapidly. Before looking at the future of this pernicious problem, it is important to review the past. As we have seen there has been any number of articles in the popular and business press focusing on counterfeit trade. In addition some books have been published reviewing the piracy problem. However few have addressed the issue using a comprehensive, research-based approach. This book has looked at the full scope of the counterfeit product problem, describing both historical and cultural origins for the growth of counterfeit product and recommending a specific corporate action program to protect a firm’s IPR. This final chapter summarizes all the findings presented in this book, looks to the future, and recommends areas for additional research.
