Abstract Boards of directors are ultimately accountable for strategic decision-making and control in organizations [1]. Financial and legal matters sometimes dominate the agendas of board meetings, which is often reflected in board composition [2]. But what about IT-related matters? This is a prominent question in an era where IT is a crucial contributing factor to the competitiveness of many organizations.
