Chapter 12 in Metathinking, 2020, pp 107-120 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this last case study, we examine extracts from the public discourse on the healthcare systems of Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. We apply a mixed methodology that includes both quantitative and qualitative data. The discourse analysis is presented as an exemplar. The sample of public discourse consists of a limited number of newspaper articles that were coded and categorised by hand. In principle, extensive analyses of a broad collection of texts using this method with text mining are possible. The Metathinking Framework allows the researcher to compare and contrast the public discourse on the healthcare systems of the three countries, with an emphasis on what is missing.
