A chapter in Managing Sports Teams, 2021, pp 341-353 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract On the basis of selected actors in the sports media complex, the new mechanisms and logics that have developed are highlighted here. These include shifts between public relations and journalism and resulting new resonant and decision-making spaces. Furthermore, a typification of new media actors is made, and the strategies used to accelerate the internationalisation of the sports media complex are explored. Subsequently, the increasing importance of non-journalistic actors is shown, and finally, the implications for sports media management are derived.
