Abstract:
Abstract This chapter is a compact introduction to labour law in sports. It shows the effects that labour law has in the world of sports. In particular, it describes the characteristics of employees and the resulting legal consequences. The specifics of labour law in sports as regards the athletes themselves and the clubs are presented. These relate, among other things, to employment claims, limitation of the terms of employment contracts and contractual penalties.
