A chapter in Topics of Family Business Governance, 2021, pp 127-132 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Executive development is a key task for ensuring an organization’s future. In family businesses, we sometimes see that the major topic of CEO-succession planning overshadows the issue of developing future executives in general throughout the organization. But no matter if the business is led by one sole leader alone or—as is becoming more and more common—by a team of leaders, all key positions require continuous attention. Regularly reviewing the organization chart, discussing crucial roles, as well as identifying and developing key talent are of utmost importance.
